Billie the Vision & the Dancers - Oh Baby, Yeah Honey.

Billie the Vision & the Dancers is a indiepopband that, with singer Lars Lindquist heavy swedish accent (which is charmingly painful to listen to)(seriously, us swedes don't all sound that damn swedish when talking english), sings about love, friendship and recuring characters Lily and Pablo and they are just so fucking precious. Switching between singing happy songs fit for summer and being young and carefree to bittersweet ballads fit for heartbreak, nostalgia and memories, they are surely one of the best bands that's ever come out of Sweden. Although not huge outside of the motherland, they've got a nice little following.

Antony & the Johnsons - Hope There's Someone.

Antony Hegarty's voice is just heartbreaking. Will there ever be a song that surpasses Hope There's Someone in expressing that crippling fear of loneliness and not being loved in life?

The Hollies -The Air That I Breathe.

Although I'm still playing My Sad Captains by Elbow on a daily basis, The Hollies song The Air That I Breathe is my most current obssession. Such a fucking good song. I used to listen to a lot of The Hollies in my late teens, when I'd decided that 99% of the music worth listening to came out of the 60's and 70's and everything else was utter shit. But as my taste in music broadened, The Hollies wasn't a priority anymore. I rediscovered this particular song a few days ago and I am in love again. So, so lovely.

Elbow - My Sad Captains.

Starting off this blog with my most recent musical discovery - Elbow. I must confess that I've never heard of this band 'til a few days ago when I listened to this song. What a great first song to hear from a new, to me anyway, band! I've forgotten how many times now that I've listened to this song, I've lost count. It's bittersweet and lovely. I get shivers every time Guy Garvey sings 'And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time'. When I'm done listening to this song on repeat, I'll start listening to the rest of their songs.

Music.

This is me. 'Me' being a 22 year old girl from Sweden named Beatrice. Although I cannot play any instruments (except for dabbling in playing the violin a few years back) or sing so save my life, I am in serious love with music. Already running a swedish blog, which you can find here should you be interested/curious/arsed to read, I decided to make an english blog dedicated to songs and bands I'm currently obssessed with. Though you should be warned that I am in no way a professional music critic and won't go into the specifics of what makes a song great or not. It'll just be a list of music I like and maybe some occasional ramblings.

Hopefully you'll find some nice new songs and bands. Otherwise, feel free to laugh at my music taste, even though I think it's pretty great.
